Chloe Bridge: Making Money as a Micro-Influencer and Getting Out of Debt

At the age of 24 Chloe became unexpectedly pregnant which forced her and her partner Sam to make some seriously big life changes.

We talked about the reality of living off one salary with a baby. She freaked me with real child care costs and we discussed the emotional impact of being in debt.

TO KEEP OR LOSE YOUR MAIDEN NAME. We're getting married three weeks today, and I'm neither particularly attached to my current surname or particularly impassioned about taking Sam's surname. I think I know what I'm going to do, but I am really interested to hear what other people decided, particularly if you went down a non-traditional route. When we fell pregnant with Arlo, we decided to give our children Sam's surname. Double barrelling felt like a faff, and I also felt this might help Sam feel more connected to this unborn, unplanned life that he was not physically connected to, as I was. (In hindsight I am slightly annoyed at myself that this was such a 'female' consideration to make. Moreover, it turns out I was the one who took a lot longer to connect, but that's another story). In naming the kids first, it meant I was also deciding what I'd do if we were to one day get married. Amongst a lot of things I had to make premature decisions on, I remember being pissed off that this decision was coming up now, before I was ready for it. Had we done marriage first, then kids, it's entirely likely that we would have made a different surname decision. I feel lucky that the surname thing doesn't feel like a big deal to me, but I know for some women it can be HUGE. I'd love to hear your stories about how you made the decision.
